Congratulations, the R7 is a very nice lock and is not easy to pick!

Day 334 of 366. I've had this SECURE trunk lock for years. Never played with it till today. I cleaned it and made a key. I also picked it.
There's a little trick: once opened the right bolt with the key or a pick, I had to pull down the key post with my finger to open the left rounded and spring loaded bolt.
I like this lock, I want to find a way to put it back to service.

Cheers :)

Day 336 of 366. A very interesting padlock. The unique shaped keyway has five pins and a sidebar.

Yes, you should do a calendar of locks:) Also indeed that trunk lock is too different to ignore. It indeed deserves some leasury purpose again in it's retired life.

Looks like the Chinese smiley lock keyway, but the lock is quite different from what I have seen. Do you know more?

Yes, that's the famous smiley keyway. The padlock has a movement activated alarm. Other than that, it's just like the others.

Cheers :)

Day 337 of 366. Medeco switch lock. Five pins and a sidebar with fingers. No top pins, just bottom pins and springs.
Picking this feels more like raking than SPP. Not very fun. I got it open anyway. It was one of my first medeco and taught me bad habits. Luckily I got some standard medeco after this one so I learned to pick them properly.

Cheers :)

Day 338 of 366. This is a unique keyway! Three pin rows and an empty one, perfect for tensioning. Picking it once is enough to open the shackle.

Cheers :)

Day 339 of 366. Another nice old still bank. Two levers and a bolt. I tried a filed down key but the two wires worked better.

Cheers :)

Day 340 of 366. This smiley keyway feels like there's no sidebar. It's not possibile to disassemble the padlock, so we can't be sure. The main difference is this only rotates, the other rotates and comes out a few mm (1/8 inch).

Cheers :)

Looks more interesting than the 4 pin tubular locks I saw in the wild!

edocdab, more pins, more fun!

Day 342 of 366. I love these Mottura. Not too difficult, neither too easy. When you're almost giving up, they open!

Cheers :)

Day 343 of 366. A nice and worn out Winkhaus. Luckily the bittings was easy. These are usually quite difficult to pick.

Made a note of the dimple and should keep an eye out for it.

Yeah, wink haus locks were the most stubborn locks I encountered. Most brands quickly left the naughty bucket but one stayed there for a long time.

Re: Happy 2020! A lock a day keeps the doctor away

The absolute variety of locks in this nearly complete year long journey just continues to impress me. Hate to see it end.
xeo: i use an electric buzzer exclusively for my ass that gets sanitized afterwards
PhoneMan: would have freaked my friend out if hed come over
MBI: Most anything goes.
PhoneMan: way to give me nightmares
selim: ok then blow your load,, i'll take anything free now a day's
