Just received this lock from a new property owner that had me do some work.

Name on it is CEMEX

Modelo - CM33

Has an odd notch down the shackle.

Spp'd and now to find a blank so I can make a key for it. :D

Looks kind of like an Ilco R63 or R64 - Fanal keys.

I wonder if that is the same Cemex company that is growing in the U.S. right now.

Looks like a basic Kwikset might fit in there. It's not far from it anyway.

Yes, Kw1 fits inside if I file down the blade a little. The groove on the blade is to deep, leaving the blade to thin. When I tried to impression, the key just flopped around loosely. Also the kw1 is to long which can also be filed.

I don't have a Kaba-Ilco key blank catalog at home.......except online.
Having trouble downloading the PDF.......worked earlier.
But not now.

Wanted to check out the blanks Gringo mentioned.(Thx)

I Don't know anything bout the name "CEMEX" other than it's on the lock. Google tells me its a large Construction Company of sorts.
At First I thought Cemex was Spanish for Master Lock.

The long notch or groove that is milled on shackle........Whats it function?

Thanks

I've seen that before in another lock, but cannot recall what brand lock it was. Hmmm
I'll have to take a look through my locks and books. But I'm sure someone
already knows and will chime in. But I'll look anyway to satisfy my curiosity.

The notch on shackle. I get it now. For alignment, Shackle will not close unless it goes into the lock case.

Yep. most like the R63. Next time I'm down at Clark's Security I'll see if I can get a handful.

Thanks
