Mini Lock Safari in Denver, Colorado

Just got back from a week of training in Denver, Colorado.  Was there for work, and had very little extra time, so did not have extra exploring time.  Still, would not be me if I did not notice the locks around me.

First, at each of the entrances to the hotel, was surprised to see this:

Image

Yes, TrioVing in Scandinavian oval format, even mounted the correct direction.  They used VingCard locks for the entrances to the building and the room doors.  But only the entrances used Scandinavian oval cylinders.  The rooms used these:

The training center used Best with WD keyway.  Had not seen them before.  Xeo should be drooling now. ;-)

Then at a mall, the janitor's closet near the restrooms were secured with an ASSA Twin.  Would have tried to get a picture that showed the finger pins for identification, but as I was looking at the picture I took with my phone, security walked by.  Did not think they would want to see me taking detailed pictures of their locks, so just acted like I was using an app on the phone.

And the last lock of interest I was was on the gas pump where I refueled the rental car before returning it.  TuBar!

Many thanks for sharing, Gordon. Now I understand why you've been quiet this past week :D

I find it interesting how many different interesting and rather high security locks are used there in even relatively common places.
Thanks for sharing Gordon! :)

The best wide keyway, is giving me veritgo, does the door have a fringed insulation strip or is your camera capable of getting the lock and the carpet on the floor through the door crack in focus simultaniouly?

is that lock mounted extremely close to the edger of the door or in the edge of the door,

Great photos, excellent focus and the flash is relatively tame not causing white outs.

What kind of phone did that?

Re: Mini Lock Safari in Denver, Colorado

There is an insulated edger on the door, it is mounted in the frame - a little crooked, no flash, and it is an iPhone 3GS. Just got lucky with the pictures. Many I take with this phone are, shall we say... substandard. When I use it for photo breakdowns, sometimes have to throw away almost 2/3 of the pictures to get the ones I want.

That Best is wicked looking!

Nice pics Gordon!

Nice to find so many types of good quality locks AT THE SAME PLACE!
You could have taken out the TrioVing for me. Think they would have noticed? :hbg:
