Enjoy this beautiful old Bode Panzer and Garny combination padlock :)

Both with a 3 wheel combination lock. One of them is only set to one combination though.

You like to tease us Dicey!

Those are a great find! I have never seen locks like that (ok my experience isn't much but still!)
Have you tried to manipulate them?

Such a treat to have a good look at those Adrian. Thank you for the vid!
Big congrats on acquiring them - sounds like it's been a long wait/want.

I really like the fact it has that space between number 100 and 0. Like if it was a forbidden area!

That is the "Einstellmarke" no idea what the English name for that is Oldfast probably knows.
@Oldfast: I bought the Bode Panzer for 50€ and the seller did not know they were set to the factory combination ;)
The seller sold them on Ebay a few years back and had a lot of them! Like 10 I think, only a few Garny though. The usually went for around 100€ and I think they would go for more now even without the combination. I paid 120€ for the Garny since it is rare and the collector wanted to have the price he paid for it. The Garny was also set to the factory combination which is different then the one it is set to now I think. It was also sold without the combination known to the seller. I waited 5 years for the Garny :)

Nice, do they have contact points like a conventional safe lock ? Had a look inside with a borescope at all ?

Yes it has, the combination lock inside is like a safe combination lock. I had a look inside the Bode Panzer but I do not own a borescope myself. I have a cutaway picture of the Garny. The Garny is not as massive but still very cool.

At this webpage you can see pictures of the Bode Panzer prototype and cutaway:

The webpage does not belong to me nor the pictures on it.

Nice video! I recently acquired the same Garny. The guy gave me the combination however I can't seem to get it open. Would you mind explaining how to open it if it had a three digit combo? The combo is 15-30-45. I also got an old Sargent and Greenleaf combination padlock in the same deal. Appreciate it!

Unfortunately the person you're asking no longer comes to this site. Someone else may be able to help however.

Are you returning the dial to 0 and then back a bit more to retract the locking lug after dialing the combination?
