Antique GW NOCK RR Lever Padlock Rekeyed

First off, Thank you very much to Magician59 for impressioning the key to this old lock. It is wonderful to see this lock working and ready for service.
I really appreciate your help.
I am having a great deal of difficulty identifying this lock.
It is most likely a railroad lock, because it has a clevis and chain.
The shackle does have markings, but it is very hard to determine exactly what they say.
at first glance it appears to say GW NOCK , but upon closer magnification at varying angles,
it seems as if the the first letter of the second group could quite possibly be a 'W,M, or an "N".
Any help in the identification of this lock would be greatly appreciated.
Also note the second group of letters could read: MOCK, which means fake,
however I highly doubt that this lock is a mock-up or a forgery of any type,
due to the rust on the chain, and the other obvious telltale signs of wear over a long period of time.
It now has permanent space in my favorite locks section.
EDIT: thanks Edsmiley.. we now know the lock is A GW NOCK now, all there is to do now is find the time period, and estimate value..
here is a link to an auction of a lock by this maker:

Look at the corrosion of the chain and clevis as well as the covered part of the shackle. (when locked)

Re: Antique Lever Padlock Rekeyed (identifcation diffculties

Found this that might help. Not the same lock, but perhaps a start on the name:

"G.W.NOCK D PHILADE" is stamped on the obverse of the shackle. There is a hole that goes through the case and the shackle to accept a wire seal. Mfg by: Joseph W. Nock

http://www.antique-padlocks.com/seal_a-z.htm

Also found this:

GW Nock, (Penn Lock Works,) Philadelphia, Padlocks and Car locks.

http://books.google.com/books?id=aKfNAA ... ks&f=false

Which leads to:

Nock, George W., Penn Lock Works, April 1890. Illustrated Catalog of Patented Keys, & etc, Manufactured by George W. Nock, 146 N. Fourth Street, Philadelphia, Pa.,

Hope this helps,
Ed

Nice. I like the old railroad lever locks. Is it brass, or some type of lighter alloyed metal?
