Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

Place it in a vice. Put it under a lot of tension in the vice. Above the lock, place the following:

  Code:
===============  <- steal plate
= C4 / C2H    =
= Small Qty   =
=      ^      =
==--/    \----=
                ^------ That is copper.

Ignite C4 / C2H using heat/concussive device.

Copper section will jet of molten copper traveling at the speed of "OH FUCK!"

Lock will open. :twisted:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you trigger the "Picking device" from an extreme distance.

What about the cutout on the plug face awol? That looks like a good place to try.

Do you know what it came from?

yeah...the tensioning will have to involve that dimple somehow,its just hard to figure out.

not sure what it came from, but am guessing a "club" type lock.

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

This has been my fantasy for a long time. I would like to see a Folger Adams in detail-schematics, and a succesfull bypass method. Folger Adams are institutinal locks used primarily in the USA penal system for detention of high security individuals.

IMO, nothing be cooler than seeing these ancient beheemoths owned, for sport of course. I beleive them to be mostly high security lever locks, not unlike those used in safety deposits.

Anyone had any experience in this arena?

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

The Schlage wafers are so much fun and there is only 2 keyways- and "A" or a "W"- designated by looking at the key from tip to bow. Easily compromised, but so much fun. Either a right or left. Come to think of it, it's kinda like the security pins and the false set. You actually false set them then release tension, then open. Rare application- hold on to these if you have them, they were usaully made of higher quality metals and if the blanks become obsolete harder to pick manually:)

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

USApicker. looking at the bow again that's definately a "W". Take the key to a hardware store to get copied. Have them match it up, except, tell them you want the blank and not to cut it. Get 2 blanks.So easy after this point. Let me know and we can easily make a "master key for "W"'s. btw that box is not original to that lockset.

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

My Weatherby US padlock. I believe it's from the 1940s or 1950s. It has unusually widely spaced pins, a simplified rotating bar locking mechanism (which makes it impossible to bypass) and very high internal tolerances. Unlike most US padlocks, this one has a shackle spring and no return spring (because of the simplified rotating bar mechanism).

Sorry, picture quality could be better.
