Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

its not too difficult,

put tension on it and pick it but imagine the 4 combo dials are extra pins because they contact the cam in the back the same way pins contact the bible.

so if nothing is setting just rotate each dial till one feels set.

its a neat lock and intimidating to look at

Me have one too!! It's funny, I never thought the seller was actually going to send the lock. It's an interesting lock but the construction and tolerances.....well it feels like it's made out of plastic.
I have a gift for you!

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

I bought a yale padlock today, so far, haven't picked it, it is full of dirt, no key, but not bad for $4 dollars. A lock for my small collection. I need to get it all polished and the dirt cleaned out, then get it picked!

That is very nice, I didn't know that they made such a thing back in the days of old. Nice collector for sure.

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

I found a guy on YT with a very impressive collection and he demos each lock in different videos (he opens and closes it). http://www.youtube.com/user/jimster586# ... wSzlbU1_s4

He has some very cool stuff as well as a lot of normal fair check it out.

This guy is strictly a collector and does not want to pick locks ( I asked him ) (woohoo)

STRATTEC CHRYSLER IGNITION PADLOCK..(unusual)
check out this cool lock.

if you own a vehicle, that uses a Y159 chrysler keyblank,
and you wish to key this padlock to your ignition key, simply remove the plastic cover off the keyway,
DSC05011.JPG

insert your exsisting key into the lock, turn clockwise.
the lock will open and be permanently coded to your key.
the lock also comes with an uncut blank...this type of padlock would be handy for locking your spare tire down...

anyone else have any idea/s as to a logical use for this type of lock?

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

We have talked a little about these on some earlier threads, these are becoming pretty common here in the states, you can get these to fit some Chevrolet keys as well. They have a sidebar too! Tooly has picked these, he says they are easy, almost like the sidebar doesn't work.

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

On the ignition key/padlock KA;

You could use the padlock to secure a driveway chain- if you don't mind turning off ignition to use the same key on the padlock.

Re: Old, Rare, Interesting And Unusual Locks

It shouldn't be that easy though, it has a sidebar, based on what Tooly said, it seems for his lock anyway that the sidebar wasn't working or something. He says it was an a fairly easy pick. But what isn't easy for Tooly?
