Master 160 with a hole...

I found this Master 160 and it has a hole on the side. Anyone know what that hole is for? The hole does NOT affect the operation of the lock.

That hole is used during assembly of the lock. The locking dogs and their springs are installed in the lock through that hole once the shackle is installed. Then the plug is installed, the pins, their springs, and finally the brass caps that close off the holes.

So the brass cap is missing. I wonder how it came off.

Unfortunately there is no serial # on your lock, or else the little chinese kid who screwed it up could get the beating of his life
