This thread is for people to show off their radios, be it old or new.

I'll start this off with my first radio EVER, this is a Realistic (Radio Shack) HTX-202 2m HT, it is amazing just how good the receiver on this HT is, but, with the stock battery pack, it only lets about 2.5w out, but for where I am, that goes far. Especially with the repeaters that are in the area.

I want to get into the ham radio stuff... haven't gotten around to it.

I have owned a BCD396XT for about 3 years now...

Well... The licencing exam is 35 questions for tech, if you get the book, or bum it off someone, then tackle the practice tests at qrz.com, to the point where you don't fail them, that is what I did. You can do some googleing, there is a good chance that there are one or more clubs in your area, (3 in mine) and most clubs do testing, usually there is a fee, but it was only $10 for the club near me.
