Double Keyway Teicocil Lock

Hello all!

Today I'm gonna show you a funny lock some members got from me. It's typically Portuguese (at least I don't know any other place that has them).
I'ts a cheap lock, only worth for it's uniqueness. Not even a fat change for me to use it ANYWHERE!

Here it is:

It has a double keyway and a funny weird key.

This lock is made with cheap materials, and poorly finished, as you can see signs of rust already sticking out (the lock is brand new):

And it's an easy pick:

10 pins. 5 on top and 5 on bottom. Sloppy tolerances... Oh well...

Re: Double Keyway Teicocil Lock

I very much like the one you sent! While it is cheaply made, and picks open in seconds, it is fairly unique. It does use the ILCO SOF1 key biank (Sofer lock), and is a cool addition to my collection.

If you consider that most people have no clue how to pick a lock, it would look rather intimidating to someone not initiated to our hobby.

Well, I do love this lock!
But from a security standpoint i wouldn't use it.

But it's a nice addition nonetheless! The keys are really funny!

Cool.
So its like 2 5-pin cylinders combined?
Are the keycuts same on both sides?
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Double Keyway Teicocil Lock

Yup, like 2 cylinders!
The key cuts are independent on each side!

You can. They are standard pin sizes. it might be interesting to have Xeo make a frankenlock on one of these.
