Thanks to jlow for sending me this. This post is mostly for him so he can see the madness he is dealing with. This is a rather nasty lock to pick despite having the same drivers as an ASSA. The countermilling is slightly deeper and the drivers bite slightly harder. The tolerances seem to be tighter than ASSA although it could just be this particular lock.

That is OK. I have a Best padlock doing the same thing to me. It has a WC keyway, and I just can't get it to either open or control. Ordered some blanks, but they have not come in yet. Was hoping to make keys for it and add it to my collection. They keyway makes it a mother to get to all 7 pins. The guy I got it from says it has spools, but I can't tell if I am getting counter rotation or if it is just my hook turning it back.

Here is a chart of BEST keyways, so you can see what I am talking about.

I've picked WC. Try a .018 width gem and come at it from the right hand side warding on an angle.

i think they are hard to get these days, now Assa bought Ruko, i have ONE spare left, but i am not interested in money, if you have something interesting to trade perhaps you can get it.
