Re: Avanti Guardian Roper Lock Box

I picked up one of these and a push button supra for a couple dollars at a tag sale today. I've been trying to find the combo by pressing down on the button while turning the wheel. I have a bunch of letters written down but I'm not sure what order they go or if I;m even doing this correctly. If anyone with experience can chime in I'd really appreciate it!

Re: Avanti Guardian Roper Lock Box

I believe the default combination on the Avanti is S-E-T.

Try that first. After that, I'd try to see if it manipulates like a safe. Master 1500's have a method that Oldfast discovered, but it doesn't work on other locks. I have manipulated other combination locks just the way you would a safe.

The Supra is fairly easy if it's the same one mentioned in other posts here. I just opened one of those the other day using the method I found here:

I have an amazing grasp of the obvious. Beyond that, not so much.

Thanks Mike,

I'm gonna try that default combo on mine too. I'll let you know if it works.

Re: Avanti Guardian Roper Lock Box

this is a xpost regarding an older supra series 3 lockbox:

ok here's a trick for opening certain types of "SUPRA" key boxes--for
those of you that don't know what a supra key box is they are the boxes
on the outside of buildings and they contain either a master key or a
sub-master key for that building--they are there for the fire dept so
they can use them in case of fires--anyhow--the supra boxes that have
the push buttons and a reset button that is narrower then the "OPEN"
button can be opened simply by 1st pressing clear, then press the #1
button now press and hold the open button then press clear--the button
will either stay down and not move or it will make a clicking sound and
pop back up--repeat this procedure for all of the buttons--keep track of
the buttons that click and pop up for those buttons are the numbers in
the opening code---now all you have to do is enter those buttons

Screwdriver behind door, pry a little.
Push down on button, Spin dial to find a gate(real or false?).
whatever feels the lowest.
Other screwdriver on top of latch, hit latch down while prying door out.

usually works fine. And allows you to access the back to reset combo.

Yes ugly, but work most of the time.

will be watching for others with the correct way.

Thanks

This method worked for me. You will most likely have to realign the return spring for the latch.

Thanks
