An old Major floor safe.

I have had this old beast for some time. Came from a restaurant that had closed and was being remodeled. I happened to see it sitting on the floor inside the door of the building and wanted it badly. Luckily one of the construction workers let me have it, as the safe "hole" had already been filled in! (they were gonna pitch it!)

A year or two later, I cut the back open so you can see the guts of it as it works:

This thing is heavy! About 20-30 Lbs. Yes the combination is 10-20-30, I set it myself with a homemade change key I have since lost. Since it's a demo lock, the combo is printed on the front.

Neat safe. Looks like you cut enough to maybe remove the lock from the plate entirely.... does it come out?

Re: An old Major floor safe.

The part I cut comes out by removing the black ring around the edge. From there you can disassemble it like any other safe lock. I left the back plate on to hold the relocker in, and because I wanted to see if I could make it a cutaway, which I think turned out pretty decent.

Free is good! and you're welcome. It also makes a good doorstop!
