Diebold Eagle no 161 combination lock 1800s

The Diebold Eagle no 161 combination 3 and 4 wheel combination lock

Parts missing usually lever arm and bolt on these combination locks used in 1800s.
Dial may have stamped on may 1871 as patent date.

Unfortunately none of the pics are mine MH and wrong side of pond

This is a nice, really easily recognizable lock. I wonder how it manipulates.

I wondered the same and had a look on forum to see if oldfast had encountered one ..

But could only find bitbusters topic on abandoned old Diebold .. where he finds the Eagle no 161
With the parts missing
lever , bolt , ...but what a great find even had dial on .

Many pics 44 of them for Diebold canton.o fitted with Eagle no 161.
