Meilink safe opened today

Had to call in a safe guy today by the name of Doug McQeen from Cleveland OH. Took a look at Meilink safe and decided to drill. Doug let me know it was a challenge with the RCP, even for him. It is a Meilink Safe with a Eagle lock, not a S&G. He did manipulate a safe my buddy brought over which had a S&G from 1985, per the tag installed by Pittsburg lock company. Facinating today to watch, but the stories he told of the last 35 years were a big plus. Looking for another as I type...lol.

Safes are like a modern adventure creating so many great stories. And yes, that Eagle lock looks nasty to manipulate!

Btw. there is a patent showing something quite similar to this Eagle lock.

Thanks. He had a lot of info on his phone. I believe this was one of his pics. Absolutely fascinating man. And a long student of safe manipulation. Corliss safes are his specialty, but is endeared to all antique safes. Traveled all over the US.
