Scraping is good to me I got this safe door with a Yale lock. I'm looking for the model number contact point information. It seems like 1 contact point I'm not sure but for free I'm really happy for my new find... I could cheat and get the combination while apart but there's no fun in cheating thanks for any help

Could be a 026. It has a friction fence, so there is only one CP. Have fun!

Dialin direction is reverse from standard locks, so to open the final turn is left.

Only left. My Mosler is very difficult. Use a contact microphone if you have one.

i'm using a stethoscope tape to the door. I really wish I could feel it. I sprayed it with deep penetrating oil then wipe it off now I feel nothing at all. No drag, no catching not even a blip. Just smooth turning back to the grindstone..

You should not have cleaned it so soon. ;-)

Agreed. Lube reduces friction. And this is a friction fence lock.

Do you have any Brake Clean or similar solvent?

Well, if you leave those parts alone for long enough inside that dark box, they start looking at each other in a different way. 9 months later, they have bred a new spacer. :P

Wait, you have this thing apart? You can clean out those areas a fair bit easier. I thought you had just doused the edges of the spindle or box edges ultra-liberally and soaked the insides.

I'll try the break cleaner even though I wipe the wheels off after that soaking I have it I still can't feel the contact point. Thanks for your advice I think

Before I clean it I'm starting to feel a very little contact point at Rc@6 now I feel it and then it seems to vanish the next same rotation I'm reading friction-fence types. I've read it before but now it has more meaning. me-0 safe lock-2 :soldier:
