Hi all,

New member from Seattle. I found your site while looking for information on safe locks. I was helping a shopping center clean out a vacant space and saw a safe stashed in the corner of the back room. They said the tenant abandoned the space and left it along with everything else that was really heavy. They didn't have the combination, it was going to the dump and I could have it. Nothing special and kinda fugly but I always wanted a safe and it was free. When I came back to the site the safe had been thrown in the dumpster due to a miscommunication. I told them to forget it as I called the locksmith from the sticker on the front of the safe and he said I would need a drill and repair and it would cost more than the safe was worth. The supervisor wouldn't take no for an answer and a couple straps, 3 guys and a forklift later it was in the back of my truck with me wondering what I was going to do with a safe I can't open. So here I am. Thank you for all the information I have tried to absorb from reading past threads. I'm gonna try and crack this sucker!

nice! gonna take some practice on that one. it would probably be really helpful to get a similar S&G safe lock mounted on a stand so you can practice.

good luck! ;)

Great score man! You may start by reading one of the best manipulation tutorial out there...

Or try some default combos, you may get lucky a second time in a row.

Cheers :)

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

On the subject of default combos...the contact area is very narrow ..5 1/8. Reading through threads, I haven't seen one that small. Is this unusual...a sign of a problem? It made me think the lock might have a default combo. I tried 50 and 41. Are there others? Thanks.

Default combos like 50-25-50, 10-20-30, 20-40-60 and so on are things I've seen far too often as a combo.

Nope...Still in there...if I can't get it open I would never be able to get it back in.

I think I have a number though...

Amplified 50-60 and came up with 55R

High/Low test = Wheel 3 (I think)
