Ladies and gentlemen, I am a "newbie" from Brazil and a enthusiast of safe rooms, everytime a bank is demolished in my city I am there intending to buy something interesting. Last time I’ve bought two Lagard Smartgard Locks (v. 5.0 silver), obviously, as the bank was closed, nobody who worked im the demolition knew the combination, I am with the locks here but I don’t have any idea how to reset them to work again, I only know how to deal with mechanical locks, but those are being a pain in (that place). Does anyone have any idea how to deal with those smartgard?

Re: Lagard Smartgard 6260 002D-00 (hs electronic lock)
I think the original mastercodes were 16273849 and 50493827 if memory serves me right, but wouldn't imagine these are still valid, don't know of any way to reset them.
Re: Lagard Smartgard 6260 002D-00 (hs electronic lock)
I did not have time to look this thing over but it looks like the same keypad. Something in this 30 page manual might help. (It does say 'Changing master code on section 4.1)

Re: Lagard Smartgard 6260 002D-00 (hs electronic lock)
Thx safecracker33 and namggey, but it did not work, actually I’d tried to follow the steps from the manual avaliable on safecentral before, without success. I already have done a hard reset on my Lagard 33E making a jump wire between two pins of the IC inside the lock itself, I think there is something like it to be done on smartgard, because if it was possible to hard reset it only cracking the keypad it’d be useless as a safe lock, but I don’t know exactly, the PCB is quite different. I’ll keep trying to reset it, I’ll tell here if I have success on it.

Good luck. That manual was the only thing I found that even resembled that particular keypad. By the way, are there a lot of abandoned bank buildings where you live?
Re: Lagard Smartgard v.5.0 6260 002D-00 (hi-sec electronic l
Nowadays, not much, the old bank buildings are completely uncharacterized, demolished or turned into stores or offices and had their beautilful doors and vaults sold as hunk iron. Today, at least here, banks use to have a reinforced room (but not as a strong safe box) with smaller vaults inside, that have locks like those I bought. I have two of those bank vaults, but are modern ones, and a curious old vault from 40’s crafted by a defunct brazilian company called “american safes” from Rio de Janeiro, actually the safes were brazilian, not american, but the factory used to import the mechanisms from U.S. to make their safes.
I keep trying to reset the smartgard lock, but I am accepting help (and would appreciate a lot), anyway, I’ll tell you if I have any new.
p.s. forgive any writing mistake, I have not practiced english for a long time

That is very interesting about the bank vaults. We have buildings around here in Maine if you did not already know it, it used to be a bank in the olden days. And don't worry about the english, I have been using it for almost 63 years and still screw it up!

The locks can be reset, however you need some very old software for Windows XP to marry the keypad and lock together.

Kinda reminds me of updating ATM software. Those also use Windows. Here is a sample software download for a more recent Lagard lock. Contacting Lagard might be your best bet if you haven't already. I will keep looking online in the mean time.

I ordered a logic analyzer to try to crack it, I hope I have success, but I have to wait patiently about 60 days to Brazil's post service to deliver it. When I bought them I've tried the steps of the manual, 16161616, It worked once, I could access the menu, but it was only once and I still cannot open the lock because the master passcode cannot change the manager lock, and the manager is the only can change the combination, i've tried 161616, but it only appears: manager passcode: penalized, it also happens with manager passcode, it only worked once, now it only appears the same: master passcode: penalized. I have tried to remove the memory battery (2032), hoping something happens, but, as should be obvious, nothing happened (it should be obvious considering that the battery is on the external unit, so, if it could be opened or reseted by the external unit the lock would be worthless). Originally the battery was welded on the PCB, I removed it and, as I broke one lead, I had to weld a 2032 socket instead of weld the battery directly on the board. By the way I took some pictures of the "guts" of the external unit. I had not much freetime to work on it those days, and I'd ask to someone who has the lagard software, and if it is possible, to send me a copy, I think has no problem on it because the software is obsolete and dicontinued.

Nothing new... I have not got anything different yet, the locks are still doing what they were made for... be locked...
If anyone have the software from Lagard please contact me to send me a copy please

Did you ever try your logic analyzer on it?
Re: Lagard Smartgard v.5.0 6260 002D-00 (hi-sec electronic l
Unfortunately I’ve not tried the logic analyzer yet, because the pins connectors that I have are too big to this chip. I also have seen a post here in keypicking.com that a guy designed a Lagard reset box. I think it will work only with combogard locks, not with smartgard, that is actually encrypted
Re: Lagard Smartgard v.5.0 6260 002D-00 (hi-sec electronic l
the reset box p/n6065 -“zapbox” , will work on the smart series locks , it’ll put it into presetup. you’ll then need thre link cable and correct software to setup both the keypad and the lock to recognise each other.
