Recent auction safes, etc.

I got all the safes and lock boxes at a recent local on-line auction for a total of $86. The 2 hour fire rated Amsec safe had an S&G 8120 e-lock but missing the keypad. I'm in the process of replacing it with a LaGard 3330. The Sentry is missing the key but the lock can be removed and either replaced or plugged with a bolt. The key lock isn't necessary. The cheap Bunker Hill safe (sold by Harbor Freight) just needed the code changed. The 2 black lock boxes are dual controlled by Medeco and Ace locks. The missing Ace lock is inside. Have any west coast members seen the service sticker before? It's out of Anaheim.

You could do some "mods" to that Harbor Freight safe... http://keypicking.com/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=10613

Re: Recent auction safes, etc.

Here are photos with update of Amsec safe . I replaced the S&G e-lock that was missing the key pad with a LaGard 3330 with dial lock. Lock is mounted vertical up. Notice external relocker to the right of lock. (this is actually to the left of the lock when door is shut) If lock were punched enough to make the lock cover move inward of the safe the relocker would deadlock the safe. They sometimes can be a PITA to release. 3rd photo shows 2 active locking bolts on the opening side and 2 fixed bolts on hinge side. No locking bolts on top or bottom. Notice the keyway in the nose of the dial. Dial can be locked at 0 or 50. The safe doesn't look big but weighs 250+ pounds.
