Re: New tool from Lishi

So at first I rolled my eyes at this, but have spent some time re-thinking its value. I didn't see the Sc4 version. The Kw1 tool says it works on All 5 PINNED locks. What about the 6 pins? Then there is the Smartkeys. I would like to try the pick on the Smartkey. Think I'll keep an eye on what others have to say before I make up my mind. Decoding a lock without having to disassemble is a time saver. I have some of the Lishi auto picks and they work great. Still undecided?

Both Lishi 2 in 1 Pick Decoders for KW1 and SC4 available for pre order $120.00 each at American Key Supply.

Video looks easy on a nice clean lock in a vise. But in the field with old dirty locks in a bind how many uses will you get before it breaks or sprung out of calibration by a heavy handed users is the question. Worth getting just to have one for show and tell. My order is in for both.

These tools do look pretty nice. I've never had a need for one of the auto tools, but these are pretty impressive. I wonder what's next? Yale? Corbin Russwin?

Medeco, Primus and ASSA would be on my list. The Sc4 tool, could be modified for Everest?

i would think it would be possible with modification, as long as the check pin is already set.

besides the check pin and the keyways on regular everests, there shouldn't be any difference. i'm pretty sure the key pins and top pins are all the same specs.

there was a very simple design for an everest tension wrench a while back, basically just an L-shape piece of metal of the correct size, just slides in to set the check pin and can also be used as a tensioner.

Re: New tool from Lishi

Seems that the new Lishi Kw1 picks are out. Several videos on Youtube. Have not seen anyone try the tool on a smartKey yet.
