Re: Members Say Hi

Hi, my name is Bill and I've been picking on and off for years.
Was very interested in locksmithing as a kid but never got any formal training.
Ended up working IT for 10 years and did most of the physical security stuff for my IT department.
I like making my own tools and have started to collect old padlocks.
I kept bumping into this place when I was recently looking for info on tubular locks and decided to join.

I just got these Dyna-lok padlocks and have cut keys for all but two.

Re: Members Say Hi

Hi, my name is Sullivan, and I'm a lock-picking-holic.

I've been picking alot for a couple years, but i started learning back about 8 years ago. I did some basic locksmithing training that got me back into it a couple years ago.
I'm just out of the US Navy and will gladly give any other branches the verbal lashing they deserve.
I would die for a set of Violaetor picks (i've been stalking the boards staring at pictures for the last couple years at least but never joined for some reason).
I hate spool pins with a passion (my hands shake sometimes and I just dont have the fine motor control during that to properly lift the pins without oversetting; the good news is that it helps me set serrated pins like a champ xD).
I hope to get to know the community a bit better and maybe pick up some pointers along the way. :D

Hi, My name is John and I am a lockaholic, going on ten years now. I have been a member here for almost a year and have so far just been lurking in the shadows and reading everything possible. Currently manipulation and impressioning are what drive me nuts. I have read everything available on both subjects and have been amazed by oldfast and his videos and posts. Bought femurats book before joining this sight. I am a semi-retired heavy equipment field mechanic, currently a locksmith and landlord/maintenace crew of 1. I am interested in ammunition reloading and shooting it too, also a member of Front Sight in Nevada. I am amazed at the information available on this sight and hope to contribute more in the future. I will change my member name as soon as I get a chance, this one was done quickly to get back to my lock habit. Looking forward to hearing from members and learning more in the pursuit of my lock habit. :soldier:

Re: Members Say Hi

Welcome John, I'm Mike.

Thank you for the kind words, and I'm excited to hear you've enjoyed some of what I've shared around here. Truth is, I will never be able to give back what this forum (and the folks around here) have given me over the years. But I'll keep tryn' :D A truly wonderful place this is... in so many ways. Glad you're here.

Jeff from Lake Havasu City, AZ USA. Hobby picking for about 6 months. I can get through most locks in time and have a good understanding of the different characteristics of security pins. But some locks just don't want to act nicely to me.

Hi, my name is Daniel.

Lockpicking is difficult, but not hard. Curiousity kills cats, innovation eats dogs.
Hobbies are hardware repair, starting with small devices, and spiritual warfare, starting with sin within and demons nearby.
If the going rate of Chinese pizza is $300 a pi, what's the cost of Pakistani gas removal for a typical urban mensch?

Hello people, my name is Tim and I am new to the forum. I have a question, which driver pins do you use on a 7-pin tubular lock? Thanks for any help. :tubular:
