Sargent Removal / Best Install

Hi Guys, wasn't quite sure where to post so please move if need be...

I just received and email from a government facility for a job and want to submit a bid but wanted to get some input and help here first. Below I will post pictures and an excerpt from the email I received. Any and all help/advice on how to proceed will be greatly appretiated so that I may submit a proper and accurate bid on this job. Thanks!

From email I received...

We will not need any keys cut for this -strictly a lockset removal/installation. The new Best lockset that we already have is a 7KC/6K model still in the box. See image A below. The knob that needs to come off is an older Sargent. Fyi, I have personally tried, and another of our lockset specialists also tried and neither of us could get it off. See images B and C below.

Re: Sargent Removal / Best Install

Can you guys see the pictures? I'm not sure if I did that right...I really want to know how to go about uninstalling the sargent and installing the best as it looks like the best is not mortise....so how or what would I use to fill the space in the side of the door where the latch goes? And need to know what would be a good bid/price for this job?

No the pictures are broken. You can't link directly from your email. You will have to download them to your computer, then upload them to an image sharing site like Imgur.com. Then you can get links and put them in your post.

LMK if you need an assist.

No they're not going to show up for everyone else--your image links are to PHP pages.

Pretty sure you only see them because they're in your browser's cache.

Re: Sargent Removal / Best Install

That's okay hopefully someone will be able to...apparently they are unable to remove that old sargent lock and I know there has to be an easy way to get that thing off of there.

Re: Sargent Removal / Best Install

The inside spindle of the Sagent can be screwed out with a spanner wrench ( or a tool that you make )

Just get a don jo wrap around to install the best

hope that helps
