Remotes for Garage Door Openers

Has anyone ever replaced and reprogram remotes for Liftmasters or Craftsman?

Re: Remotes for Garage Door Openers

Yes. How it is done depends on the model, but usually there is a purple button (gray on some older ones) that you press on the motor unit to reprogram it to accept the new remote signal.

:agree:

Lift-masters and Chamberlain both have the programing instructions printed on the motor near the Reset or Learn Button. Sometimes you have to remove the light covers to find.
Get a ladder and try not to fall while reading.
Reading Glasses are a plus.

Also you may be able to find there 1-800-Help-Line, call them and some have an automated instructions, some times you get a person.

Genie doors seem to give me trouble as you need to purchase the correct remote. The other brand (for me) have used the universal remotes sold at Homer Depots.

Good luck
