The age depends on which model padlock you have. I'm not an expert on the older Master Lock designs, but the No. 77 was a model that Master Lock produced sometime in the 1950's/60's with an embossed "lion" design. They later resurrected a version of that same design for some limited-run commemorative locks in 1996, for their 75th anniversary.

What you are looking at is a Master No. 77 "Jungle Master" padlock. These locks were an inexpensive padlock used up to the 1960's. You can see the word MASTER held in the lion's mouth... I hope this helps...
