BumpKey.us is a SCAM

I ordered through Bumpkey.us based on advice from this forum (don't know which part of the forum, was just searching through Google and found it). They obviously are scam artists. I believe it would be Keypicking.com's responsibility to remove all posts referring people to bumpkey.us because people like me, just 3 months ago, read the posts and ordered from them and now I have to spend valuable time and money filing fraud claims with my bank.

You guys have a responsibility to remove posts that refer people to scam artists. That's just my two cents. If you are considering ordering through them, do a search for "bumpkey.us reviews" first.

Re: BumpKey.us is a SCAM

A simple search here actually reveals a few different complaints. It's your fault for not researching it better. Joining here to demand posts be removed because you were supposedly scammed is a bit laughable too. Firstly, KP is in no way whatsoever responsible for your actions. Secondly, you just joined here, why should we believe you anyways? The burden of proof is always on the accuser.

Either way, do your research next time instead of going with the first thing you find on Google then blaming the host site. :wanker:

Re: BumpKey.us is a SCAM

I looked into this, from what I can tell either it is really a scam, or the bump key business wasn't doing to well and ACT Lock&Key fell off the face of the planet but their servers are still running, the domains associated with them are registered until 2017. no one turned off the server so that site is going to run rouge until it gets turned off or the DNS expires

well thats just silly... we are not obligated to uphold your views as truth with out proof...

I am not saying they are not scam artists... I am not saying they are... I cannot remember who I bought my bumpkeys from... but I know I got them...

perhaps you are right buy why are you not giving details... why are you demanding we defend your views to the letter without giving the company time to defend themselves from acusations...

post info not complaints...

just my 2 cents... considering I am but one guy in this community... I just think your being rude... does that mean you are rude because I (one person) says so... does that mean we as a community have a responsibility to make it known that you are being rude... all because 1 person thinks you are...

post your full situation and let the community decide weather it has a responsibility to your beliefs or not...

Bumpkey.US... Riyame is Canadian.... International conspiracy! (I bet nozza is in on this too, everybody knows foreigners are after our domain names)

Maybe you should spam them with "cat" pictures until they go away.

Re: BumpKey.us is a SCAM

Bumpkey.us advertised on this site a long time ago, with the original owner of this site.

Since that time, there have been a number of people complaining about them, so one of the first things we did when taking over this site was to try to make sure all old ads of theirs had already been removed, and as far as I can tell, they were. Ages ago. Long before you would have placed your order there. I just did another search to verify it, and as far as I can tell, there are none.

At the suggestion of Ashleighcat, I also did a search of the forum for user-generated discussion of that website and I found several threads complaining about them and ONE thread that was a review of their bumpkeys, posted by a user of this forum. I can only guess that thread was the one you found. It was not a recommendation by the forum to shop there, it was a review, posted by ONE forum user.

It's unfortunate that you had a problem with that site selling bump keys. However, we as a website, are not responsible for the opinions of the users of this forum. I don't acknowledge any fault in what happened during your business transaction, especially considering the fact that the preponderance of references here on this forum to that retailer, are warnings AGAINST shopping there, and a search of this site would have shown that. However, I have checked to make sure there are no active links in that review thread which point towards that site, so hopefully your case will be an isolated one.

I hope your dispute with the bank lands in your favor. It's never nice hearing about someone who was scammed.

Re: BumpKey.us is a SCAM

There were quite a few responses to the complaint and an unusual message by Ashleighcat. Wondering why Ashleighcat is not coming forward to explain what exactly happened with supporting facts.

I would have posted the whole story to justify my claim.

Re: BumpKey.us is a SCAM

Perhaps you should consider looking at more recent posts for purchasing advice or maybe, just maybe use the chat on the site to ASK advice in real time. Either way, whether you had looked at posts more recent than slightly OVER A YEAR AGO old or asked on the chat, you would have known not to purchase from them. Hell, they never paid for the banner ad they placed here a very long time ago and were removed. YOU have a responsibility to do YOUR DUE DILIGENCE and find as many reviews as you can and pay attention most to the most current ones (as companies sometimes change their habits for the worse over time) when researching reviews of a company. Don't lay this shit on my doorstep, maybe you found a VERY OLD positive post or few about them but there are plenty of "they suck and don't ship" posts that are more current too! We do NOT have a responsibility to remove old posts about anything. WE ARE NOT CONTENT PROVIDERS, we allow people to post THEIR OWN CONTENT. It is THE READER'S RESPONSIBILITY to make whatever they will of what other people post. Period, end of story.

Re: BumpKey.us is a SCAM

Kent,

While I do agree that the OP left out much of the detail, however, given that it was bumpkey.us, I am inclined to believe that they were fucked over by them. Bumpkey.us is a pack of ahhhatness who doesn't honor their obligations to their customers or to places they try to get advertising on. Just so ya know... ;)
