So, has anyone here actually picked a lock successfully with the king or queen pick? I have played with them and have yet to find a lock that i can pick with these. I love the idea, but, don't really see the practicality of them.
Re: King and Queen picks?
other than the locks on my front door... no... they worked real fast on those
i should try em on more locks lol
I did a busted up padlock on the job once...
i guess out of all the few locks ive tried em on they have always worked...
that really is my front door lock... sad isnt it... its got all its pin stacks lol

Re: King and Queen picks?
Yes they work on a lot of door locks . suprised me! They are not a pick use them like a key that you need to jiggle & bounce. lot of fun
Re: King and Queen picks?
I like the King/Queen sets, like others have said they work really well or not at all in my experience. use it like a jiggler or bogota but slower.
Re: King and Queen picks?
The SAK Pick Design Manual goes into a lot of detail on how the cuts are optimized for given keyways.
Are most people just using a single standardized king and queen or has anyone experimented with one specific for Schlage vs some of the other keyways.

It's a booklet that was once published by Paladin Press.

Re: King and Queen picks?
dont mean to derail clearmoons thread but is the book worth the money? I realize it is >$20 but with all the information available online I question the value of books like these.
Re: King and Queen picks?
I have the book that I bought from Pallidin. Worth the money ?
Its 85 x 11 about 26 pages long. Some one has tried to explain the SAK System for generating lockpicks. No body has ever heard of Sak however (he is never mentioned on the internet that I know of)
Depends what you want to learn about the king and queen. They also show a few other similar picks designs.
99% of the people are happy to go with the predone templates. They explain in great detail how the shape of the king and queen was derived
Only get it if you are prepared for a lot of math and heavy duty measuring of locks. You will take a lot of measurements crunch some numbers and plot the shape
of the pick. It involves a lot more than simply working with all the standard pin lenghts.
