WHAT IS YOUR PIN KRYPTONITE ?

what kind of pins do YOU have the most difficulty with?
spools? serrated pins? mushrooms?barrels ?
graduated spools? any combo of the above?

personally my "pin kryptonite" is GRADUATED SPOOL PINS...
usually found in YALE , CHUBB and others , these pins are graduated in size, tall and long,
graduated down to stubby,short spools.
combined with high ,tweaked-out tolerances, give me the most resistance.

truthfully, no pins really bother me other than medeco pins. its more of just the lock tolerances for most locks. and spring types have a lot to do with it. but if you know what your up against, everything becomes easier.

Serrations are a son of a bitch. Plain and simple.

Lol, I hate serrations. That lock has to be one of the sickest out there. :P Once I get my pick sets I'm going to be able to make a good attempt at some of my other locks that I know are demon spawn.

if you pay attention to the feel of the serations as they pass the sheer line, they become easier to pick. just practice.

i agree ..i use them as an indicator as to where the shearline is.
you just gotta stay super light on the tension, and using top-of-the keyway tension really helps a lot.

Yeah serrated pins were my enemy until I got used to the feedback they give. The ones i always struggle with are just normal pins in super high tolerence locks. If your not completely focused on the feed back you end up with nothing but overset pins and other pins unsetting. Then i get impatient with it and end up throwing the lock in a drawer for a month.

yeah security pins make high tolerance locks easier to pick. thats why i would rather pick a lock full of spools than standards.
