Re: My current diy pick set

the handles look pretty cool.. did you wrap the metal with wire and use heat shrink tubing on the ends?

Re: My current diy pick set

thats exactly what I did. I used the internal wire from cat5 cable and heat shrink tubing. It works out quite well and the handles feel good to the hands while picking

as an IT guy, I think that is genius!! what material did you make the picks out of? one of these days I am going to try making my own.

Re: My current diy pick set

The material is spring steel pulled from windshield wiper blades and when you have several boxes of cat5 cable sitting around, you gotta find a use for it.

[edit]
here is a pic of my latest creation, in template form, so if anyone is actually interested, i can make sets of these with consistency.
Enjoy and there will be more to come.

Re: My current diy pick set

I would definitely be interested, as long as they are wrapped with cat 5 :)

Re: My current diy pick set

Those look cool.

Maybe make them in 8pc sets. One handle in each color of CAT5 wire.

Might not be a bad idea, but the white striped wires are not at pretty as the solid wires.

I could send you some 25 pair phone wire...50 different colored wires!
Will PM you about a trade!
