Re: Creating a new Lockpick company...

Looking forward to try the picks
Maybe people will spread the rumor about them!
Hope this project doesn't die!

Re: Creating a new Lockpick company...

Hmmm. lack of profit in picks?

With all due respect you have a fantastic product that could compete with some of the best.

You have an excellent reputation in the locksports community, the ability to deliver a kickass product and that can generate a lot of goodwill.

I have serious conerns about the marketing and some of the business skillsets you have.

If you have the time to invest, this project should be able to fly.

You may need the input from some people who know more than you or I about getting a business up and running.

Re: Creating a new Lockpick company...

lol its true I have no business skills
(although I do have a plan to get a larger commercial sales base)

but the idea was not so much for EVERYONE... more for the locksport community... and once you guys all buy picks... ill be SOL considering they will last a long time... i figure the only repeat customers would be people like xeo ;) who break ALL picks :P

after these presale picks go out things may change... i have less marketing skills than I have business skills... hopefully some of you will discuss them with friends... andi can get a good word of mouth customer base ;)
I only hope for the best and hope not to screw anyone... like others who have had the same idea...

IF if flop... everyone will still get the products they payed for...

Re: Creating a new Lockpick company...

Once we get these suckers and start putting them on youtube, LP101, and our local folk thta we deal with I expect that sales will go up. It will just take a bit of time to develop your name in the pick the department just like it did to develop your reputation as a picker (that worked out pretty good). So hang in there. The offer to come Cincy still stands when you get the first batch through.

Re: Creating a new Lockpick company...

Absolutely. I'm really not very fond of bare metal handles. Feedback is nice, but makes those longer sessions more painful.

If you're dipping handles, how are you going to engrave the numbered sets?

Re: Creating a new Lockpick company...

I am fine with either...all of my Sparrows picks I put heat shrink on for handles, before they offered dipped.
