6-32 tap. That is all it takes, and since it is brass it really does not take a great deal of effort.

Sorry for the newb question, but what is the purpose of doing this?

Is it so you can change the pinning quicker?

It's for the pins to get hung up. Harder to pick. It's made it damn frustrating is what it has really done though.

When the spools bind up they go in the chamber at an angle. The top of the pin gets hung up on the countermilling.
