Home brew dimple picks.

I don’t remember where I got the idea, but I used a exacto knife handle I picked up for less than 4 dollars u.s.. I made the picks by filing down windshield wiper inserts. The 1st problem I had was that the wiper insert I have is narrower than the body of the exacto blade so there was a lot front to back play in the pick. I fixed that by making a small piece of insert to fill the gap. This took the play out of the pick but sometimes the small filler piece would start to slide forward out of the handle. So to fix problem 2 I filed a notch into the back of the pick and made a new piece of filler to fit the new gap. Now there is no play in the pick and the filler piece is trapped by the notch. It took a few hours messing around to get it right but what the hell, its raining outside and it beat doing chores. Thanks for looking.

Pretty slick, I like the looks of it. Have you tried it out yet?

Pretty nice work there. It looks like a production pick not home brew.

nice... now lets see em in use
Re: Home brew dimple picks.
Thanks guys. The pick actually works great now that I got the filler piece squared away. The wiper insert actually feels stronger using it like this (twisting force) than the medium hook I made. I can feel the pins a lot better now too using this than I was using a half diamond.
Hopefully I'll get a video of picking my dam 7x7 soon an you'll see em used there. I've got it open twice now (once with the dimple pick) but not with the camera rolling...go figure lol.
Thanks again for the comments are there any other must have shapes that would be worth making?
