Pawn Shop Pickin' ...(3:18)

CORBIN S.O.Co (Southern Oil Company). A New Haven Moving Equipment padlock (overlift attack suits it just right: )
And, an old YALE laminated padlock- which actually gave me some trouble for a bit (more than you see on the video).
Gunked up - dampened feedback - easy to overset or underset pins.

Pawn Shop Pickin' -Wilson Bohannan ...(4:03)

Contrary to my normal MO, I find these WB's respond to more of a 'rough & tumble' style of picking. Normally I attack a lock with precision and finnesse, as I feel my way through it. But w/ these, a quick, hard, almost 'sloppy' technique seems to produce results. Out of the 6, I included a couple I've never picked before to make it interesting : )

With extreme lifting force comes the risk of oversetting pins- so variable tension plays a big part here. Easing off the tension 'just enough' allows you to drop a single pinstack. Or better yet, just a keypin within a pinstack; leaving the driver at the shearline.

WB's are rather interesting when you consider the fact that they contain no sec-pins, and yet, offer a surprising degree of resistance to picking. The company is known for its' precision machining which yields the high tolerances found in their locks.

RR BRINKS MOGUL (PRISON/JAIL LOCK) ...(22:49)

*Gut shots* .....pending until picked consistantly : )

Big thanks to Kokomo for sending this beast around, & to Xeo for including me! I can't tell you how much enjoyment I've gotten from this lock... before it even came to me! It started its' tour shortly after I joined KP, and I've SO THOROUGHLY enjoyed the resulting vids. It's seen some of the greatest pickers I know; Kokomo, Chris, FarmerFreak, & Xeo.

By the time it got to FF, it got sick of being poked at, and began retaliating by eating picks...lol. This massive beast could easily chew off a thumb or naw off a limb if your not careful. All the vids (success & fail) can be found on my channel under my 'favorites'.

I'm honored to add my name to the ever growing list of victims! This is one of THE most exciting vids I've shot. You can't tell by watching it, but it literally took me the first several minutes to calm the adrenaline shakes & get down to business LOL.

At the moment, I've several projects to finish. After that, I will embark on Mogul madness.
Eating, sleeping, breathing, and shiting nothing but Moguls :freakout:

Re: Oldfast tele

Well, I can't open the one I have... so I'm not sure what in the hell made me think I would open this one. But I almost, kinda, sort of, just about, maybe, possibly thought I might... lol. As far as sending it out, it'll be a bit (but you first person I thought of). Naturally, I'll have to check with Koko before sending it anywhere though.

BRINKS 101-45092 *out-of-box* ...(6:48)

Guest appearance by: the MOGULS!!...lol.

Never seen one of these before. Think I'll eventually send this to a newbie. This thing would make for a perfect 'start-up' lock for someone just geting into the hobby. Especially if I included 4 more standard drivers with it.

Wouldn't need a vice. Easily disassembled. Work your way up from 1-5 pins (standard drivers). Experiment with various bittings. And eventually throw in some spools. Not bad for $10 :)

Wilson Bohannan *out-of-package* ...(1:30)

Opened like a can of spinach in Popeye's most desperate hour...lol.
Thought I'd purchase one to replace the two I recently killed for the cause.
Might as well have the camera rollin' while I open it.
