Falcon's Homebrew

These picks are my lates creation
The picks are made of Windscreen wiper blades
The handles are made of metal wire spun around the picks, and then soaked in super glue
I haven't sanded the picks down yet(excess glue on the pick and handle)

Re: Falcon's Homebrew

Those are excellent, I never thought of using spun metal wire dipped in glue. Very cool.

Re: Falcon's Homebrew

I've thought about using wire for the handle and dipping them in some sort of clear coat. I thought it'd look nice and still be very solid for feedback...... I see now that it does look really nice. Great job man, and thanks for posting them.

Re: Falcon's Homebrew

New homebrew pins:
Made from screws that i cut into pieces and sanded smooth

Image

I tried some in a trioving 5 pin cylinder, and i managed to pick it consistantly with some practice
They are just like serrated pins
I think they will be harder to pick with a mix of diffrent pins

Re: Falcon's Homebrew

I like your picks. Only downside I see are the superglue residues, but I hope they'll wipe away with use.

Unfortunately I can't see your homebrew pins... maybe something went wrong whith the picture?

Cheers :)

Re: Falcon's Homebrew

Now I can see it, thanks. I made some standard pins some time ago, and never tried it again. Nothing special, here they are, if you're curious

I'll eventually copy your pins idea, looks interesting.

Cheers :)

Re: Falcon's Homebrew

those are some wicked picks man. I really like how solid they look. I may have to copy you, if you don't mind of course. I'm still a little green on protocol.
have you though of maybe dipping them in a clear coat epoxy? I have some stuff I use for building kayaks that would make an excellent finish.

Re: Falcon's Homebrew

Looks like some nice work. I like the idea of using the wire for the handles, way to think outside the box!
