Here are my tension wrenches from wiper blades(cars & trucks)and some from cut down BBQ skewers..Even with this lot I still come across locks that they wont fit properly...The 2 in the middle are shortened ends trapped in springs for delicate tensioning
Re: tension wrenches
Nice, great selection you have there
Naaapaalm...sticks to kids...it sticks to the belly and it sticks to the ribs...
See those kids standing by the lake...drop some napalm and watch them bake.

Great selection. Don't matter how many you have you will always come across that one bastard lock that nothing fits.

Nice. How did you make the tips? Wouldn't mind seeing a close up on 1 or 2.
Great job!

Re: tension wrenches
Thanks chaps... @ed...Heres a close up of the skewers.. after bending them at 90- degrees I then used the bench grinder to thin out the tips to suit different keyways.

Re: tension wrenches
The BBQ skewers is a good idea. The spring tension wrenches are interesting, Steven Hampton recommends them in his book Modern High Security Locks but you are the first person I have seen that uses them. I will make a set. How did you fit the end to the wrench, is it jammed in or did you use an adhesive?

Thanks for the close ups Darkhorse, that helps.
Can you give some more details on how you made the spring tension ones. Never saw one before and have been doing a little bit of research on them
Thanks again!

Re: tension wrenches
Very nice, Are the Barbeque skewer tension wrenches about the same thickness as a bicycle spoke, or thicker?

Re: tension wrenches
@alera...the skewers are thicker than spokes...over here in the uk you can get a pack of 10 for a pound
@piotr.. theyre just jammed in the end of the spring
@ ed...I made up a tension wrench from wiper blades as usual then cut off the long part to about 1" long and forced it into the spring..
Here is it in action on a yale cylinder...with one of the homebrew picks too

Why does the tension wrench give so much if it's so thick? It looks almost as if you have a handle made entirely of rubber in the video.
