Not bad, did you make those yourself?
Naaapaalm...sticks to kids...it sticks to the belly and it sticks to the ribs...
See those kids standing by the lake...drop some napalm and watch them bake.

Re: every day carry picks
a cut off wheal and a small diamond bit
Re: every day carry picks
What grit are your diamond bits? I have a set which are about 150 grit but I'm not sure if they're actually suitable for metal or not. Doesn't list metal on the package but I guess you never know.
My everyday carry stuff would be the retracto pick I made, and the bogota & hook which JR sent me. I keep those with a couple of extra wrenches in my wallet, really nice picks.

Are the diamond particles glued or nickel bonded? if glued forget it... if they are nickel bonded go for it, just give it a rest now and then, and it sure as hell don't hurt to use cutting oil!

Re: every day carry picks
I'd say if you can... Invest the money in a decent bench grinder.. They're not that expensive like $60 for something that'll get the job done.. Oh and if you go that route, get a polishing wheel for it too. That should do it quite nicely.
BTW, I'm not a locksmith and where I live the laws are pretty strict about "burglary tools". I only keep a small jackknife pickset in the car. In case of emergency and its pretty inconspicuous.

I've got one which runs at 30k RPM but it isn't actually a hell of a lot faster than using an emery wheel on the dremel. I've seen guys making picks out of hacksaw blades on grinders before and it fucking eats through them in minutes, but mine just doesn't do it. And I'm not being a pansy with this thing either... I'm holding it good and steady against the wheel with enough push to get through it, sparks everywhere, but it just doesn't go through much material. I figured it must be the wheel, maybe the guys I've seen were using something really coarse... the coarse wheel on mine is 35 grit, so what's the deal?
By the way, I used the diamond burrs to make my latest pick (just for detail work) and they do ok. Hard to get a nice even finish though as they're so small; I could really do with getting myself a bunch of sandpaper in different grits for that. I don't wanna hijack the thread with this crap so if you have any suggestions on what I need to be doing with this damn thing you can fire me a PM or something. Cheers all
