Commissioned Picks

Hey all,

It has been a busy week, but I have (nearly) finished two commissioned picks this week. One is for LocksmithArmy (dual hook with bloodwood handle) and one is for a Kiwi gent over at lp101 (bogota with cocobolo handle). Let me know what you think. If anyone is interested in a custom pick(s), let me know. Give, you might want to see what LocksmithArmy has to say about the pick once he gets it. ;p

Yes, I know they are shitty pics. I need to break out my light box and snap some pro pics. I am setting up a portion of my web site for picks (selling), so I need to actually get off my lazy ass and take some good picks.

Re: Commissioned Picks

Pick looks great, nice to see a new design. Couple questions, what is the thickness on the pick material, and on your double pick, why make both ends the same, seems like it would be more useful if you make both ends different. Great work!!!

Answers:

1. Pick thickness is .027" (likely less after sanding)/
2. The two sides are different: One size is an angled flat hook and the other is a rounded hook. Per the request of the customer.

Thanks for the comments. If you ever want something custom, let me know.

The prices will depend upon the following:

1. Type of wood for the handle.
2. Type of pick.

For example, if you wanted a bogota with a cocobolo handle, that would run you more than if you did a dual with a handle. The bogota that I made for the ozzie is $35, not including shipping. The dual hook with bloodwood handle I made for LSA is $25.

Are you interested in a custom pick? If so, pm me and I will let you know what types of wood I have along with a ball park for shipping based upon your address.

Re: Commissioned Picks

Ok Gents, here are the finished picks for LSA and Ozzie:

I like how they turned out. I will need to add more shellac next time around, but I feel like these are solid. I am really looking forward to seeing how their new owners feel about them.

Let me know what you think and if you have any critiques. Also, I am going to be opening up shop at my web site, www.thegeekispeak.com, to sell my picks there (as well as here). I have gotten some really good interest between here and lp101 so I do have a bit of a back log, but certainly nothing that will keep me busy for long. If you have any ideas or want something custom, just let me know.

Thanks,
ChonkyTonks

Notch is going in on the large hook today. I will sand it down and ship it out. I look forward to hearing what you think about the pick.

Great! The higher quality pics make these look even better. I think for my next one I might do a triple and a quad bogota. Would you be able to do a quad?

Thanks again!
