Just got my vice too, so going to be trying a bit of static picking. And hopefully i'll get my little Majestic set in the letterbox tommorrow, courtesy of Uklockpicking .
You are gonna love ya new picks, I mean, really love them.
I suspect that your lock will just fall open on its own, when ya shove a majestic in its hole!
My southord's make the goso run and hide under the sofa!
I was looking at the majestic too - thought they were the same as HPC!
Are they not ment for US type keyways, tho - not a bad thing but ya might find some of the UK (Ireland) and small padlocks a struggle – tight!
Slimline picks leave the handle from the middle, like these:

If I where to buy southord again, that would be the set for me!
Should go for slimline, HPC, Southord or Peterson...
From what I can gather:
#1 EVERYONE loves Peterson’s.
#2 Most pros rate HPC
#3 Southord are great all rounder’s
I have my eye on this:

One step at a time though - huh. I must get spools down before I upgrade.
Let us know what ya think of ya new picks!
Anyone else wanna add to this or put me right?
By the way,
Don’t ya mean "UKLockPickers"
Just a small point. tee hee...
I love my HPC's. NIce and strong. Majestics are very close to HPC but it seems like they are not as strong as the HPCs. Not that I dislike my majestics (all I have is a couple shorthooks and half diamonds) I have a few petersons already. Cant afford a big set. I've been buying single picks in govt steel, they're nice and very strong....BUT the other night I couldnt help myself and I order the "Just Picks Stainless Slender Set" from them. Seems to be priced right, should have what I need in a slimline package. They're also Govt steel. Which is nice. That should hold me over for a while until I can order a big set. Southord was my first set. I dont use them very often anymore, since I've grown fond of my HPC's. But I still use pieces from the southord set. I still use the hell out of the twistflex TW that came with it. Just my experience and humble opinion. When I'm picking a lock these days I use a combination of a Klom hook (some in the set are nice and slim), HPC shorthook, Peterson offset diamond, and my majestic shorthook. All on the same lock lol I use the klom to do the real light work, then use the others that have some more strength to pop the spools. I'm still probably being heavy handed on the spools.....but hey, I'm still learning.
OH and nice videos bouncer.....Keep up the good work bro. One day I'm gonna figure out how to make a video and upload it so you guys have some proof that I can actually pick a lock LOL......

You know what you did right?
1) You static picked a lock
2) You picked a lock without knowing the brand;
3) You picked a lock without knowing the bitting - or even looking at the key.
Sounds like you just did a bit of "blind picking" on that "bâtard bouché" of a lock. Congrats!
Nicely done.

Makes it a whole different ball game not having a key to look at. But i think it will actually make me a better picker trying it like that more often.
