Keyless Security, Laser Lock

My father in law always is finding locks and betting me to get them open, yesterday he found a key less entry padlock somewhere and bet me I couldn't get into it. These things are a joke, always have been. I wouldn't recommend securing anything with these, valuable or not, they are a novelty item. I haven't found one yet that can't be bypassed in seconds. I will include some pictures of the one that he had for me, I simply shimmed the shackle with a knife type tool that I had made for another project I was working on. Don't worry about regular padlocks shims for these, they are not going to be long enough, at least for this brand, and a soda can shim will take too long, it isn't necessary, a piece of wiper insert with a sanded pointed end on it will fit just fine, then just rotate to push the dog back, this brand anyway has lots of room around the shackle. It's a one second job. My opinion, junk!

...but it says Laser Lock...and it's orange...that means SECURITY in my book..
Re: Keyless Security, Laser Lock
I have a hard time thinking outside the box sometimes I guess, but I never thought of people with disabilities, especially kids with Cerebral Palsy in school, these locks would be great, as most can't use there fingers well enough to use a regular combo lock, like on a school locker. These locks would work great for them as one button is easier to push than trying to dial in a combination.

Does this laser lock work by remote control ? I got some simalar in the shop really shite security but great for o.a.p's with disability's and kids ect .
Re: Keyless Security, Laser Lock
Yep, it has a one button remote with it. Be a good seller on a checkout stand, a good impulse buy item I would say.

May make an interesting addition to "novelty" lock collection.
Just curious. How many 'key-differs' ?

As far as Frequency? I have no clue, but someones T.V. remote probably has a good chance for popping this thing!

Re: Keyless Security, Laser Lock
This thing is cheap cheap! But mine has no key override, only way in is by the remote. Pretty cheesy lock really, but like all locks, they all have a place I guess!

Re: Keyless Security, Laser Lock
Good job bypassing that sucker. It looks really cool and high tech! But no key bypass is kinda odd. What happens when the battery goes dead or the remote gets broken/lost? Stupid electronical crapola... would it withstand a 5lb hammer attack and stay locked, or is all the dough in the pick resistance and electronic key differs?
