can anyone help me find detailed info on manipulating a sentry safe d880h group 2 combination lock 3 number

i am researching trying to teach myself...Bought the safe from a bargain store and it had no manual so i thought i would see if i could crack it before i sent a notorized letter for the combination... I am looking forward to the challenge. Any help wopuld be appreciated

Holy longwinded writing. There's also a few errors still even after correcting and the hi-low testing is still bass ackwards.

Excellent info, great job you really have helped me alot and i really appreciate your help, it really helps me understand easier all the info i have reacsearched, hats off to all you great people!!!!! I will keep you informed with my progress

Did you happen to get any photos of the lock insides?
I mean was it a Sargent Greenleaf 6741 or something similar?
The only Sentry Safe I've had my hands on were direct drives straight tail piece designs.
