Help Needed: ASSA/Abloy Corbin/Russwin

See the pictures below. This lock came without a key as part of an eBay lot. I was surprised to find seven pins and such a variety of security pins. My question is this: is this stock? If so, wow! This is not your daddy's Corbin Russwin!

Lol no way. All mine came with spools except one with standards. Hopefully they have more!

Did you buy that from me?

If I remember correctly then yes I did, probably as a lock to practice/fool around with. Did you have fun picking it?

What you're looking at from left to right:

TOP:

1. Corbin Russwin Pyramid Top Pin
2. LAB spool
3. Double Schlage T-pin
4. LAB serrated
5. Corbin Russwin Pyramid Top Pin
6. LAB serrated
7. LAB spool

BOTTOM:

1. Corbin Russwin Pyramid keypin
2. Regular keypin
3. Corbin Russwin Pyramid keypin
4. Regular keypin
5. Regular keypin
6. Regular keypin
7. Corbin Russwin Pyramid keypin

BTW, are you sure the keypins weren't flipped upside down intentionally? I usually always do that when pinning up a lock.

Re: Help Needed: ASSA/Abloy Corbin/Russwin

Thanks for the explanation of the pinning. In particular, I was wondering where those serrated key pins came from... never seen them before. I'm pretty sure that the key pins were not flipped. The only thing I wasn't sure of from my picture above was the arrangement of the T pins, so I assumed that they were in the configuration I would have used.

I definitely had some "fun" with this one... This lock is a great example of how our picking can be held back by our expectations of what a lock contains. I was expecting standards and a few spools (and not more than 6). The first open probably took over 15 minutes, mostly because the lock didn't have the types of pins I was trying to pick. Finally, I dropped into my uber-light tension mood and popped it pretty quickly. After I saw what was inside, it turned into a 3 minute lock.

Thanks for all the great locks you sent my way... some are definitely beyond my abilities, but look for others in my future videos. The dual sidebar DPI is definitely a change of pace. I have a couple opens, but I can't crack it more than 1/15 attempts. I'm going to spend some time with it and hold off attempting a video until I am able to pick it in a controlled manner. Do you know what model the "Ruko 8 Laseservice" is?

Re: Help Needed: ASSA/Abloy Corbin/Russwin

Sweet pinning job and great story but this again brings me to my thought of a system of sorts to help all of us know who is selling what so we can avoid extra fees not to mention most of us already ship stuff to each other so its a matter of adding to that box and shipping price is also saved. Any ideas or thought place feel free to take action.
