Everest Primus key

I wanted a key to my Schlage Everest Primus. And all I have are regular Everest keys.

I had a key to this lock with the normal cuts in it already. To make it work I had to replace some of the finger pins (primarily the 3rd and 4rth finger pins spaces). The key isn't perfect, on occasion it will hang up and need to be re-inserted into the lock. Since I'm not planning on using this lock other than something to play with and pick on from time to time, this key is everything I wanted.

I was happy when I got a the key working. But then I wanted to have a control key. I had heard that I could add solder to the tip to make it a control key (I believe I heard that at a speech Schuyler and Datagram did at Defcon). It works very well, thanks guys.

Awesome, you are a creative devil!

See those kids standing by the lake...drop some napalm and watch them bake.

Re: Everest Primus key

How does the standard height everest key lift the XP pin to the proper hieght? It's close enough... that's what it's supposed to prevent!

Nice work on the control key.

I didn't know the Primus version of the key was higher. I thought the only difference was that the Everest key has a big cut that messes with finger pin spaces 3 and 4. But until I have a real Everest Primus key to hold it up next to. I guess I won't really know, aside from the fact that it's working :D .

Re: Everest Primus key

Will you look at that... the XP pin is supposed to be to higher than any previous Priumus sidebar depth. However, the regular Everest key is the depth of an un-coded key. As long as the XP pin isn't in the 3rd or 4th position, it could be cut. Damn, I had never compared them before.
