Locksmithing ideas

My coworker was talking about using a tube to hold precut keys and a light went on in my head.

He gave me a plastic wallet insert a few days ago and it dawned on me to use it to hold a precut key and it's corresponding bottom pins. Sort of like a wallet filing cabinet for precut keys.

Another idea came to me when we were discussing ways to insert car opening tools inside the door without messing up the weather stripping. I told him I used my library card in a friends car and lost it inside the door cavity. This also gave me the idea to use a Vertical ID Holder as an 'Auto Sleeve'. I just cut a opening on the plastic ID holder and slip it over the car opening tool. :D

That would definitely be an awesome way to make sure you don't lose pins away from the comfort of your pinning set. I think I actually have something like that in my wallet if I remember correctly.... :???: I think the only problem would be the size of my wallet after stuffing a few keys into it. It's already too large as it is :P

For car doors, I use a sheet of plastic cut from a windshield washer fluid bottle and wooden wedge.

Part of a milk jug works for me. Fold the cut part in half, cut a small semi-circle in the middle of the fold for the tool to fit through, and use a lighter to slightly melt/round off the edges of all cuts so they don't cut the weatherstripping.
