Primus IC Core

I have a problem... I just took a contract to remove 30 primus IC Cores and replace them... No one knows were the control key is... I have user keys and master keys... I beleave these to be a tough nut to crack and would like to get them out without drilling them all but will if need be...

Any Ideas will be welcomed...

Re: Primus IC Core

Maybe try a bump key, i dunno how well they work with those paticular locks but it's an idea.
I likes my locks like I likes my women, loose and easy to manipulate.

Re: Primus IC Core

You might be able to open them, to control, with one of the working keys and a pick. Stick the pick in to actuate the pin in the back. I'm pretty sure that will work. And if it does work, I'd be willing to work out a deal with you to buy some. Just a thought.
EDIT: Stick the pick and the key in together. A postal pick will do you well also.

Re: Primus IC Core

i would get a tension wrench that has the little bumps in it, that rotate the cylinder to control, if your confident in picking. it will help you find the control sheer line.

Re: Primus IC Core

Just solder a little tip on the end of the master key and it will work as a control key

Re: Primus IC Core

You could find out what shop sold them the locks and have them make you a control if the customer purchased them new. If not XEO makes a good point. The control and operating difference is a small flat tip on the end that moves the pin which draws in the control ring thus releasing the plug. If not that method, you could grind down the top pin portion leaving only the finger pin cuts and pick shear line and making the control pin accessible with a short hook. The top pin shear line is relatively simple in comparison to the finger pins to pick.

Re: Primus IC Core

yeah i would try some solder on a COPY of the master key. i would suggest practicing the solder on a regular key as any key that opens the lock can be used as a control key for that lock. Try it out and let us know how it goes.
