Medeco Key Cutting Code Book

I picked up this book off of a cheap auction on eBay. It's a Medeco Key Cutting Code Book. It's pretty old, the type inside is copywrited back to 1970 but this book was printed in the 80's. Anywho...It show's how to read from a key...letter designates the blank, then the first two digits are the page number next two digits is the line number and the last three digits is the cut angle. I tested it out on the Medeco core from my 831B and it all makes sense.

N0218467 (Key blank N, Page 2, Line 18, and Angle cut Line 467. I've attached a couple images of the book, I thought it was a nifty find anyway. Take a look.

And i guess if anyone needs something looking up that doesn't have access to codes or what not...go ahead and let me know if I can help?

Medeco original and cam locks patent 1970.

The BiAxial was later, around 1985. M3 was 2003.

Check out patent numbers.

can you look up this key: N0810200 (Key blank N, Page 02, Line 10, and Angle cut Line 200)
elbo wants to know what the cuts are; it looks like all the cuts are center except the first cut at the tip.

THANKS!!

Re: Medeco Key Cutting Code Book

This book is from the 1980's it doesn't have a blank of "N"
You said page 2 but your code has page 8.
So page 2 line 10 code 200 is 363211 with cuts of CCLCRC
Page 8 line 10 code 200 is 345663 with cuts of CCLCRC

Not sure if this even helps since the blank doesn't exist in this book, but the cuts and codes above are from the other digits in your key code.

Re: Medeco Key Cutting Code Book

oh thanks, i didnt realize i just copy/pasted the page number from the first post! sorry! the code i supplied is correct. i forgot to change it to page 8. someone wasnt completely with it when they posted that :-X :-P

well.... its from a 831B, which thinking about it now.... probably wouldn't be in the code book. i guess everyone in mini-chat (myself included) will have to wait for me to get a plug follower and dump the cylinder.

thanks for looking!!! i appreciate it.

Re: Medeco Key Cutting Code Book

Being an 831B shouldn't matter, I myself had an 831B and I looked it up in the code book. It's just a 6-pin Medeco core, the housing doesn't matter. Let us know what you find out when you dump the pins.

Re: Medeco Key Cutting Code Book

yeah! i figured since your first post was key blank N that the code for my key would be in the same book as yours! :(
