Kwikset Kevo - Bluetooth Door lock

Just received an email saying that the Kwikset Kevo lock is available for pre-order. It is a bluetooth enabled door lock that has a SmartKey core, the ability to use your smartphone with an app to open the lock via bluetooth, and also a separate fob if your don't want to use a smartphone.

I would love to get a hold of one of these to play around with, but since it is coming in at $219, I think I'll wait. Unless some people can get them cheaper :-)

Interesting nonetheless, here is a link to the site.

Interesting . If i remember right, there was a lock with a similar way to open on kickstarter. Or perhaps it was an early commercial for this product.

Re: Kwikset Kevo - Bluetooth Door lock

Hmmn... that doesn't seem like a very wise idea to allow bluetooth to unlock a door... I want one to mess with too, however, I also concur that the price is a bit much, patricularly considering it is a kwikset product! I bet they'll sell like hotcakes... heh

Just what we need. "Smart"phones used to unlock doors containing an already horrendous SmartKey lock.
