need help. I really shine in group 2 lock manipulation but suck at lick picking. One has a key but the other doesnt. My local train museum got 2 of these boxes in. Is the lock picking principle the same as other locks on these?

The key is a simpler version of this that's straight except for the end.

It feels like 3 pins.

Looks like a wafer lock maybe? Should rake open incredibly easy with a paperclip or short hook. SPP is the same principal, lift the binding wafer.

Can we get a closer pic of the keyway? That key is for a L&F style lever lock.

What you have there is a lever lock. The picking is quite different. Try turning the center (It's called a Trunion). Does it have a limited rotation, or spin all the way around?
