What kind did you use? I use plasti dip. I have never had a problem with it. I get lube on them all the time.

Also I crush up a bit of silica and put it in the final dip for texture and grip. Works well. But now I've taken to making handles out of wood, old rags and newspaper.

Bet you're wondering how that works...
