Woohoo! My first dimple lock! The lock is actually quite small so it was a bit of a challenge. Also, there appear to be pins on the underside of the keyway that have no springs pushing them up. I don't know why they were there because there are also dimple on the key for them. I didn't have to mess with them to open the lock though. Anyone know what they are there for? This is an Abus EC75, by the way (it's a bit hard to read in the photo).

Kind of sorry I spent the money on the dimple pick set. All I needed was this crappy half-diamond with no handle at all.

Where did you get that lock? I've only found one place online and I think they had a 6 lock minimum to order them. I have a Yale dimple lock but I've never been able to pick it.

It's quite a bit smaller than it looks. The body is about 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches.

Yeah, dimple locks are fun arnt they? Those pins are passive pins. If you put a blank key in, they will be pushed out of the plug preventing it from turning.

Huh. I guess it was just luck I wasn't pushing on them when it opened or something...

Finally got another best core. I've been picking at this one for a day or so and got it to operating a little while ago. Also check out the sweet holder (part of the body of an american) keymaster sent with it!

I like that holder! you can see where someone drilled the control lug to the left of the core. very cool!

Crazy! I didn't know that was how people got these open when picking fails. It doesn't look like a hole, though; it just looks almost like it was filed down.

I was lucky enough to get a package from JeffMoss today and, if I know anything about him, the lock on the right is a Sargent. Thanks for the extras, Jeff! I'd have posted some pictures of the tubulars picked if I could just get the tension wrench situation straightened out...

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for that best holder, but it was sent by a member of lp101 along with several cores, only one of which I've opened so far. The Sargent was a pleasure to open--I'm going to put up a video tomorrow of that and the little padlock.

These are from Whiz. I got them almost immediately (with the exception of one of the 5200's and then spent days failing at the Yale cylinder you sent me. Still haven't opened it yet.



This is from Mortimer. Got it open almost immediately with a Peterson Pry Bar and a hook. Thanks! By the way, you have a 5200 and an Abus 83/45 in the post. They're coming from another member so let us know when you get them.



I might do a video on some of these if anyone's interested.
