The link that Patrick mentioned explains it well. That part on the key pushes in a slider inside the keyway.

I was hoping this lock would be my first Assa Twin pick, but it has only 4/5 sidebar pins installed. I used too much force on the 5th sidebar pin yesterday and broke/bent that part of the sidebar. I had to remove that pin from the lock to make it functional.

At the top position you can kinda see where that part of the sidebar broke...

These last two were quite a bit more of a challenge than the rest. Other than my first 1100 pictured (red one) it was far a tough, if not more in some ways.
But these last two notice how much shorter the shackle is on the little one, it is even smaller than all the rest of the short shackled 1100's? Usually, as everyone had said you get that deep false set it is open..nope! not on this one. You have one more slight serration to pick. Pick the wrong one, start over.
The rusted one was in service for quite a while and just plain reated different than any other.

Took a quiet night picked them both open back to back, with no interruptions. Did both numerous times just to be certain it wasn't a fluke, or I just got lucky.

Both have similar bitting.

adi, that Kenstan core is a Medeco keymark keyway which is patented/restricted - hence why you have not been able to find blanks.

Thanks Jeff,

I hadn't encountered any Keymark stuff before so didn't realise what I was looking at. A few others have confirmed it as well, and I found a thread here in a Keymark branded SFIC. Super cool profile, I am already looking around for some more Keymark stuff, this is fun!

Got it to operating as well.

It's important to be aware that when using the control key on Sargent LFIC cores, it turns counterclockwise to remove the core as opposed to clockwise on SFIC.

That is a construction core - they mark them with a dimple at the factory.

Hmm...maybe a construction core?! I don't know. What's the control bitting. 113511? Thanks (at Jeff).
Thanks for the tip of direction core needs to be turned. (Ted)

Neat lock jharveee, I do not believe that i have seen one before. There sure are allot of locks out there.

I finely got my Abus 75IB/50 opened, picking it in hand. I may have been easier in a vice, but do i still do not use a vice very often. I am thinking that i am going to really benefit from working in a vice as i get further into Multi locks and Medicos. We shall see. As to the Abus 75IB/50 it seams like the location of the passive key control pins can play into how hard they are for me due to the limited space inside the keyway. One things is for sure, the 6 pin Abus EC's are harder for me than the 5 pin EC's.

no that is the control key for 1-bitted cores. My construction keys are laser cut so it's hard to decode, but I could copy and send you one.
