Re: What have you picked today

Thanks!
Yes that is a six pinner.

I do find the lighter weight reveals more vibrations, yet the lock is difficult for me to pick. Hopefully i can get it opened again tomorrow ^^
Every set something gets reset, very long pick. Feels like i'm setting pin after pin endlessly XD

Only got the lock to train myself and not intending to secure something with it, as it has been said it opens with very little force :soldier:

The Titalium is definately the hard one, after that comes the dimple abus 75 with its narrow keyway.

Re: What have you picked today

You better get to it :)
Yes both for grip and also there are many air bubbles trapped within the plastic making the pick amplify vibrations and clicks :D

Re: What have you picked today

I done it ! After having a Squire sal/40 for 9 months I managed to pick it tonight. Its got a couple of spools and thats what apparently was defeating me. I had tried raking and various tensioners to no avail, also tried bottom/top of keyway, I eventually used a homemade tensioner ,made from a splitpin that is rigid and has no feedback whatsoever and ...Bang...it happened.

Re: What have you picked today

Scudo.

Congrats. 9 Months --- I know that feeling when a lock that you have been "working on" for a LONG time finally gives way.

A mixture of joy and "Fuck Me !!" (am I allowed to say that? )

Now that you have got it once you will find that next time won't take nearly as long and eventually you'll be popping in in a couple of seconds. Keep opening it and you will learn a lot about dealing with spools.

Again, Congratulations. :hbg:

Re: What have you picked today

Finally got probably the hardest lock in my collection

A Yale (I'm assuming) that I got from Jeff. This thing has been bugging me for months now.. finally got it.. I actually had to switch tension tools halfway because I couldn't get what I had far enough back.

Re: What have you picked today

Nice picking Forsquirel!
Spool pins and serrated, nice mix.
Was that pin upside down(Moss trade mark)?
Then you had to deal with a standard driver pin... I'd be like "Was that it?" Thinking that setting that pin was just to easy.
Waiting for the surprise.
Well done.

No, nothing upside down. It was just really late last night and I was in a hurry to get it posted, reassembled and in bed for work this AM. Didn't even realize it was upside down in the picture.

Nice job. Yale's can be difficult. Jeff doesn't help either :)

I've had more than a few Yales give me grief. Good Ol' locks.

Re: What have you picked today

I have now picked every lock that I own minus house and cars

The latest victim, a Brady (Abus 41). This thing has a wicked keyway to work with, but amazingly enough fell to a standard hook.
